Starring acclaimed DJ YO! MAFIA alongside talented MCs, vocalists and dancers, this is a celebration of hip hop’s best party jams throughout the years, inspired by the block party that started it all in 1973.
​
HEY DJ is a hip hop party jam, taking you on an educational yet body movin’ journey through the streets of the Bronx to today’s global phenomenon. YO! MAFIA leads the charge with her 25 years of DJ herstory, joined by some of Australia’s top MCs and vocalists including Eliza Wolfgramm (The Avalanches), plus incredible breakers (Bboy Sette), poplockers and hip hop dancers (Jenna Walasek, Charlotte Lewis).

It’s time to celebrate the cultural phenomenon that has shaped music and society worldwide, as a voice for the voiceless and a catalyst for change. It’s time to ‘Get on Up’ and ‘Drop it Low’ to HEY DJ!

After two high-energy Adelaide Fringe seasons at Gluttony in Feb/Mar 2025, I am thrilled to be working on the national tour of this powerhouse production. HEY DJ is ready to bring the party to new stages and new audiences.

HEY DJ - A Hip Hop Party Jam hit the Northern Territory for Darwin Festival and The Far North for Cairns Festival in August 2025.
