A BIT ABOUT ME

I'm Grace, a freelance creative event producer and the founder of GCREATIVE.

Actively working in the festival and events industry for over 12 years, I have had incredible experiences working all over Australia and around the world.

I am an enthusiastic professional arts worker who loves to problem solve and value-add enhancing details throughout the lifecycle of a creative project. I believe that building a good team with excellent humans is the foundation to a successful project.

Working with artists is my passion because when I can help support someone so that they have more time and energy to create their art and do amazing things, I feel proud and part of something important.

I love what I do and that I get to work with some of the best people in the industry. Let's create something super fab together; please reach out to start the conversation.

WHAT I DO

Describing what a Producer does is notoriously difficult.

A Producer is a type of project manager - building and bringing together elements (KPIs, schedules, contracts, admin, budgets, marketing plans, planning meetings and stakeholder communications) to manage a common goal or objective set by a festival or arts organisation, and usually in my case, this is a live performance outcome.

I am a Creative Producer. This means that I do all the usual project management tasks, but I also add creative ideas.

I play a crucial part in the early planning conversations and during design meetings. My interest is in the experience for audiences, artists and crew; ensuring that there is good flow, communication and the spaces look good. Then, I find clever, engaging and beautiful ways to add-value to an event or activity.

A key part of making this a reality is understanding the true wants and needs of all individuals involved in the project. So when it comes to decision-making and problem-solving, I am able to ensure that key requirements are met (or exceeded!) by the people directly affected by the project.

Little details are sometimes the most effective to make people feel welcome and comfortable in a space.  And sometimes, all that is needed is a moment to think "what if" to take something from mediocre and passable... to epic and breathtaking.

PORTFOLIO

Merran Fyfe

City of Marion

“Highly professional and dedicated, Grace thinks and sees visions many others are unable to imagine. Most intriguingly, Grace also has the high level of operational knowledge and technical expertise to then deliver her ideas into communities."

Max McHenry

Musician

“You've been really great to work with and everyone in the band has been consistently impressed with the events you've put together, how well organised they've been and how accessible they've been for the whole community.”

Jo O’Callaghan

Adelaide Fringe

“We received positive feedback from many artists in regards to her ethics, eagerness and support in the delivery of the project. At the centre of her passion for events is a need to amplify the voices of independent artists, and make space for them to thrive, whether that is through large scale murals and street art, free community events or intimate theatre pieces.”

Mick Lampard, Prinicipal Singer

“Thank you again for the beautiful energy you brought to the last couple of years of touring. You guided and helped us with such positivity and love and it genuinely made a huge impact on all of us.”

David O'Loughlin

(Former Mayor)
City of Prospect

"With the enthusiastic support of our local traders and through her creativity and efforts, Grace combined our cities artistic assets of public art, murals and our Newmarch Gallery into wide reaching events and programs, and has established a legacy that will be enjoyed by our community and visitors for many years to come.”
